The building that Kelly’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant occupies was the former Boalsburg Steak House, a historic landmark that boasted a twelve-foot-tall steer on the roof and one of the first liquor licenses in the State College area. After an extensive renovation in 2004 that left little of the original structure except the steer, Kelly’s opened its doors to rave reviews from both community leaders, for the resurrection of a landmark, and guests for the excellent food and service.
